Founded in 2019 by Dorian Shine and skillfully produced by Omar Zahi, Resist Film Festival is a dynamic platform that champions films and artists committed to shaking the hearts and minds of society. Over the past two years, we've ignited the screen with two compelling online editions, showcasing more than 60 national and international short films and video-based art productions. Our commitment extends beyond the screen, as our vision encompasses breaking down stereotypes, challenging prejudices, and confronting taboos through the audiovisual power of film.
Resist Film Festival is not just a festival; it's a movement rooted in Human Rights, Justice, Social Change, Climate, LGBTQ+, Gender, and the voices of BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People Of Color). We embrace any art form driven by activism. Filmmakers and artists worldwide are warmly welcomed to submit their works, creating a vibrant tapestry of diverse perspectives.
During the challenging times of the pandemic, we connected artists and creators through online Zoom sessions, fostering valuable networking opportunities. We empowered participants through mentorship, enabling them to craft and share their stories, resulting in published biographies in both English and French. Our impact reverberates through the coverage of numerous national and international magazines, articles, and newspapers, amplifying the voices of those who dare to challenge the status quo.
Submissions for 2023 edition will open soon. For any further information please visit the website www.resistfilmfestival.com, or contact [resistfilmfestival@gmail.com]
